Students learn STEM related skills in a program called “Tech-Explorer” developed by Sierra College Center for Applied Competitive Technologies. In this program, participants build a working catapult from materials, drawings, and processes used in today’s advanced manufacturing. Each student will be actively engaged in the manufacturing process and gain hands on experience using tools and equipment.
RCAM has developed the Sierra College Tech Explorer catapult project in a mobile outreach platform for regional middle and high school students. Utilizing industry volunteers, this engaging project based learning activity allows students to experience the skills used in the 21st century workforce. Download the technical drawing, or visit the Tech Explorer Catapult Integrated Curriculum Guide for useful resources and learning activities to support additional project based learning.
